What is the Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program?

The Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program is a group recreational activity program designed specifically for people with arthritis. Developed by physical therapists, this program helps people with arthritis keep joints flexible and muscles strong, and helps reduce the pain and stiffness associated with arthritis. The one hour classes are held two to three times per week.

The Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program was developed through research done by the Arthritis Foundation national office and is managed locally by the Greater Southwest Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation. Results of the research conducted on the Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program earned it the “evidence-based” title and allows participants to get predictably positive results if they attend regularly.
